Design Data for Nuclear Power Plants
U.S. NRC Regulatory Guide 1.70, "Standard Format and Content of
Safety Analysis Reports for Nuclear Power Plants" specifies the following
structure and content:
- General plant description
- Site characteristics (geography, demography, meteorology, hydrology,
seismology)
- Design of structures, components, equipments, and systems
- Reactor (fuel, nuclear design, thermal and hydraulic design,
reactor materials, reactivity control system)
- Reactor coolant system (vessel, piping, pumps, steam generators,
valves, residual heat removal systems)
- Engineered safety features (materials, containment, emergency core cooling
systems, habitability systems, fission product removal and control systems)
- Instrumentation and controls (reactor trip system, engineered safety
systems, safe shutdown systems, safety-related displays)
- Electric power (offsite and onsite power systems)
- Auxiliary systems (fuel storage and handling, water systems, process
systems, HVAC systems, fire protection systems, diesel generator systems)
- Steam and power conversion systems (turbine-generator, main steam supply
system, condenser)
- Radioactive waste management
- Radiation protection
